Office of Global Ethics & Integrity - Corporate Counsel

We are looking for a Corporate Counsel of Ethics and Integrity to join our team. The person we seek is a talented and collaborative ethics and compliance professional with investigations, policy drafting, and training experience in high-risk regions. The ideal candidate should be willing to take on new challenges and grow our regional team presence. This member will join OGE&I in our Bangalore office... handling Ethics and Integrity issues for India and JAPAC and will support the Senior Director, JAPAC Head of OGE&I.

Responsibilities with oversight from the JAPAC Head of OGE&I:
• Advise internal business partners on ethics-related issues
• Draft and lead trainings on various policies and topics owned by OGE&I
• Conduct investigations of non-HR-related Code of Conduct issues in India and JAPAC along with report drafting
• Support other investigations, trainings, policy rollouts globally
• Enhance anti-bribery, anti-corruption, anti-fraud, global trade, public sector sales, and political law programs
• Perform due diligence of partners, suppliers, vendors, and other third-parties
• Monitor and track employee Outside Business Activities
• Approval responsibility for external Gifts & Entertainment
• Identify and review potential conflicts of interest between Salesforce and external parties
• Perform compliance risk assessments and policy gap analyses in India and JAPAC, including on corruption risks (i.e. U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), U.K. Bribery Act), global trade compliances, public sector compliance, political law, and provide risk mitigations

Required Skills / Experience
• Highest standards of ethics and integrity
• Needs to be a flag bearer for a culture of Ethics and Integrity
• Impeccable work ethic that includes honesty, integrity, humility, discipline, professionalism, and accountability
• Substantial experience as a qualified solicitor, lawyer, controller, compliance official, or auditor with a focus on ethics and compliance (anti-corruption focus preferred)
• Superior organizational and analytical skills
• Impeccable attention to detail
• Experience with investigations, policy drafting, due diligence, risk assessment, and remediation
• Fair and dispassionate investigator
• Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information and professional activities
• Knowledge and familiarity with various government procurement vehicles and processes in the region desired
• Ability to work simultaneously on a wide range of projects as part of the global team
• Strong written and verbal and communication skills (English, any other language would be a plus)
• Ability to develop and maintain educational tools addressing corporate compliance issues
• Keen intellect with an insatiable curiosity and maturity to handle complex situations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including in public speaking and writing
• Sensitivity regarding how to balance legal risk with business realities
• Ability to work under pressure, organize, prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding work environment spread across time zones
• Team player
• Proficiency with languages and availability to travel (post-Covid)
• Law degree from an accredited law school
• 2 to 7 years of business law firm or significant ethics and compliance experience, with a focus on white-collar, anti-corruption and FCPA investigation experience preferred
• A proactive nature and “can-do” attitude
• Basic business IT skills, including proficiency with Office Suite/Google Workspace, collaboration apps, etc.
• Experience with Salesforce products, especially CRM would be advantageous
